- 4 Tb butter
- 2 Tb minced onion
- 1/2 C flour
- 4 C chicken stock
- 2 C cooked wild rice
- 1 C grated carrots
- 1/2 C ham, diced small (We love Fischer Farms!)
- 2 Tb slivered almonds
- 1 tsp. Dynamite Herbs
- 1 tsp salt
- 3/4 C half and half
- 2 Tb Verjus (or lemon juice)
- In a large saucepan, melt butter and saute onion until tender.
- Whisk in flour. When incorporated, slowly stir in chicken stock.
- Stir constantly, slowly increasing heat, until mixture comes to a boil.
- Stir in rice, ham, carrots, Dynamite Herbs, and salt. Simmer on medium about 6 minutes.
- Stir in half and half, as well as Verjus. When heated through serve.
